To stand up for yourself can be seen as a combination of Acting in alignment with your values is authenticity when it clashes against the Social environment shapes behavior and identity through norms and conformity that tries to tell us differently.

Explanation

It can also be seen as having the courage to face your Fear is a primal survival emotion triggered by perceived danger and be able to act according to your values not for lack of fear, but rather through the understanding that there's something more important, an abondance of Intrinsic motivation drives action through internal alignment and passion that fuels you to act.
