Mindset is having strong awareness over mental states, both our own and others Understanding others requires attributing mental states like beliefs and intentions to them.

Explanation

To have mindsight requires both Empathy means understanding and acting on another's perspective so that we could place ourselves in the other's shoes (or mind) and having a clarity of mind to see beyond our Subjective perception filters how we see external reality.

It means to see people clearly, as they are, without biases or Judgment adds subjective value to objective events, we can grasp that each person has their own version of reality, and we are able to switch between these realities with ease.

Mindsight is gained through exprience, we can't rationalize our way to others' minds, because we would still be limited to our default lenses. We have to talk with others, to understand their point of view, which will help us understand other people, and see the holes and biases in our own.
