Fleetingness

Notes

Claim

The concept of fleetingness is that experiences are by definition something short and unique.

Explanation

Moments come and go, but each one is unique, like saying that you cant step into the same river twice Life is change.

Why it Matters

Therefore, we should acknowledge the beauty of the fleeting moment precisely because it is fleeting, it is something that we will never experience again.

Examples

Like hearing music, one can't stop the song and enjoy it forever, because the song won't be a song if we are stuck on the same note.

Even the recurring routine we often get stuck in, can be seen as something, refreshing, exciting each time, because it is different and unique.

Supporters

Opposers

As opposed to Fear of missing out fuels anxiety about opportunities we cannot take which is a negative way to regard the fleetingness of moments, where we focus on all the experiences we are missing because we don't have time to do it all, this is an optimistic way of enjoying the experiences we do have.
